DO NOT GO HERE!!!! REALLY! - in short: they'll take your money for a pre-purchase check and miss thousands dollars worth of repairs! long story: I went to Toole's garage on August 8th 2023 for a pre-purchase inspection of a vehicle. They checked if for 1:15 mins, and when I came back they told me that there were only a few minor issues with the car, which were estimated at $1k in repairs. I had personally noticed that the trunk didn't open and it wasn't on the report, so I asked. They told me it was probably a faulty motor (without checking), and that they would send me a quote for it, but shouldn't be more than a couple hundred dollars. Based on their inspection, I bought the car from a dealer without warranty. I drove it home and noticed a noise, so I decided to bring it to my mechanic in Palo Alto to get the minor things fixed and to check the noise. Turns out there's more than the car's worth in repairs necessary. I won't go over the full list, but they're all things that should have absolutely been caught even during a short check (my mechanic found them in 40 minutes) - like for example that the trunk control unit had been taken out of the car or that the oil gasket has a leak. I called Toole's today (August 11th) to ask what we could do, since I bought the car in blind faith that they had done their job right. They were aggressive and refused to do anything other than refund the inspection. I've filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and Bureau of Automotive repair, and hope they'll hold these guys up to the gross mistakes they made. (See attached photos for the report - that doesn't indicate any of the issues my long trusted mechanic found)
